Blogger’s Quilt Festival – Fall 2014

I entered two quilts into the Blogger’s Quilt Festival over at Amy’s Creative Side. I entered Contained Chaos in the Mini Quilt category.

The second quilt is the Floral Pop quilt that I entered in the Small Quilt category.

Same goes here, click here to get to the voting page and look for this bright and bold quilt and tap the heart to vote for it.

This weekend my quilt guild – the Memphis Area Modern Quilt Guild – had a sew-in at Kelly’s house. Kelly blogs at My Quilt Infatuation and we all had a great time sewing and chatting. I started on a quilt that I plan to give to a deserving family that my church is adopting for the holidays. It uses the So Sophie line by Riley Blake Designs.

I made lots and lots of half-square triangles (HSTs) and got about 1/3 of them trimmed before I left. After dinner I began trimming again.

I love how the browns, mustards, mauves, and blues play so nicely together in this line. I finished all the trimming and had this small bucket of pretty scraps.

The quilting inspector approves:

I’ve got a plan on putting them together so I hope it will work like it is in my head.

Be sure you head over the the Blogger’s Quilt festival and vote! I’m heading over right now to choose my favorites in the other categories.

Sounds like a fun way to spend a day~quilting with friends! I know how much time it takes to square up those HST’s! If I hadn’t invested in bloc-loc rulers…I don’t think I would do as many as I do!

  4. Fabulous quilts – good luck with the festival. Looks like you had a very productive sew-in. 🙂
