I recently came across a legend showing the Morse Code for the numbers zero through nine and it looked like it would make a cool quilt. And guess what? It does! The table I saw looks like this and I thought I could possibly create a mini quilt out of it. I created the design and then attempted to figure out how to make it come to life.
Snowball blocks create the dots and small strips create the dashes. I’m planning on writing up this pattern. How cool would it be to make a quilt personalized with Morse Code? I must start working on that!
I used this gorgeous Alison Glass charm pack and mixed it with some text prints. The rainbow deliciousness of this quilt makes me very happy! I quilted each row with a coordinating color and I love the overall effect that it gives to this piece. I used all the colors shown here. I am definitely an equal opportunity thread user. The back is an improv pieced beauty that was made with the remaining scraps left over after making the front.
To be honest, I actually made this for an Instagram swap but I just couldn’t part with it and made something else instead. Am I a bad swapper? My partner wasn’t very specific about what was requested so I think I’m okay. And the new piece I made is stunning. I think it will work just fine. In the meantime, both pieces are brightening up my sewing room.
